Vintage Girard Perregaux Casquette Led Watch.
Extremely rare Casquette by Girard Perregaux, produced from January 1975 through November 1978
Case 30 x 40 mm
Flexible and adjustable strap
This is the rarest version, with case and strap made of the thermoplastic Makrolon (a polycarbonate reinforced with glass fibre, which at the time was mainly used for computer cases).
The total production of the Casquette totalled over 8, 000 units in rolled gold, stainless steel and... Makrolon. Just 2, 000 units were made of the Makrolon version.
The microprocessor for this watch was made in-house by GP, in three different calibers. This is the early version, with: a) 12 hour display b) date display and seconds It's known as caliber 395
In entirely original and working condition (40 years later, the pre-aged quartz crystals are still extremely accurate: the deviation is a few seconds at most over the course of a year).INCLUDES ORIGINAL BOX (has some wear due to aged but overall in great conditions)please see pictures!
