Written, “Dear Amagi, Thank you for your letter. I suppose that it’s cold at your place, isn’t it? Have you caught a cold? I suppose that you and your family member...sare fine. I think that you may be busy in current situation. Please take careof yourself. Owing to you, I don’t take care for anything as to Japan. I’veheard that our Empire are trying to enlarge power of force. It must show powerthan ever. I’m fine. I passed new year days of (Showa) 18th yearwith full of memory and felt nostalgy for Japan under the palm tree. I ate‘mochi’. But I felt strange, as it was cold. Please don’t worry about me.Yasuko will give birth in April. She may bother you. I hope you will help her.”We don’t need coal and clothes. There are many things about which I’ve neverheard such as fruits and palm. Natives live in strange houses. Natives havebegun to speak Japanese, using dialects. I and they are friends.
