This lovely antique Bru is from my parents estate. This beauty stands 19 inches tall. She is marked Bru Jne 8 R on the back of her head. She has pretty glass eyes that are set and a open mouth with teeth showing. Her ears are pierced. Her body is in nice condition. I took as many pictures as EBay allows, if you would like more please message me and I will be happy to take more. Her hair is not marked but it looks like it is made from human hair. Her dress is antique and it has some pin holes in ...the back and the antique slip is lovely but I see a patch of white cotton fabric where is was mended, there are two slips, bloomers and socks. She comes with antique black Bru shoes. I took her pate off to take pictures, I included several with the flashlight, the only thing that shows is the seam, no cracks or hairlines. Up for your consideration is an antique French Bru Jne R doll with an open mouth and tiny teeth, she is a size 6, 16 inches tall. She has her original beautiful blonde mohair hair wig and cork pate. The most gorgeous blue sleep glass eyes which make this little girl so sumptuous. She is wearing an antique style pink and white lace dress, antique one piece underneath, antique lace socks and her leather shoes. Her beautiful bisque head doesn't have any hairlines there is a painted line at the crow...n of her head it is not damage, looks like some paint went on a little darker. She does have the tiniest eye chip at the corner of one eye which can barely be seen, I have added close up photos of her eyes. Her body is in good antique condition with age appropriate wear. Her head is incised Bru JneR with a number "6" under that (see photos). She is a spectacular doll and ready to display at an amazing priceI am ready to answer any questions that may arise. No 21 Antique French Bru Jne R 8, 1899 Beautiful face, enamel eyes, open mouth with teeth, holes for earrings. Old mohair wig, not as old as doll, earrings and cork pate are new. The body is unusual, composition , legs move like a walker. One arm is different than the other, possibly she waved at one time as it moves easily. The back of the doll has 3 holes, may have been a talker at one time. Today she will walk when you move her. Legs have cracks, however they are together. I do not know what ...the band is around her middle, the torso seems to be in one piece but I am not sure. One finger has a split, but together. Has hinges on the side of her legs and hips that allow her to walk. Face has great coloring, there is a dot of white over one eye, beneath the eyebrow. There is an imperfection under her chin, it may be a slight small hairline. I am not sure and it is not noticeable. Underwear is lovely and very well made, all cotton but not old. Old shoes of cloth, stockings old and pretty. Dress is wonderful, embroidered cotton, very old. If you have questions please email me and if you know more than I do, email me too. She is a later period Bru from about 1890 and what a charming, playful expression on her with her open smile showing little teeth under her ruby lips and darling little dimple Shes got beautiful big blue paperweight eyes still on their original rockers so she can sleep when put in the laid down position and she is on her original walker type body.She is wearing a burgundy silk costume with stitched with new and antique laces added on the bodice matching silk velvet jacket with antique laces adde...d around the collar and sleeves. A matching bonnet with antique lace and ribbon sits nicely on her pretty human hair blond wig with bangs that is over a cardboard pate. Underneath she has on a full antique slip with matching pantaloons trimmed in lace with old socks and frayed old white silk shoes.She has a wonderful presentation but she has a few issues: there is some wear to the composition body, the original side strings have been cut and the crying box inside no longer works. Also, she has Also, she has two light hairlines on her left side of her forehead that have been stabilized on the inside and are only really seen if her head is lighted also the bangs completely cover it. Considering this doll was advertised to be able to walk with children, little girls would actually take them by the hand and move them along. So Im surprised that any of the walking bisque dolls survive at allI think she is a darling antique doll with a charming, childlike look that displays beautifully, but if you need a perfect antique Bru doll, she is not for you, but if you love looking at beautiful antique French dolls and want a Bru for about a third cost of a Bru R 9, then I think shes a fabulous doll and at a great value. She measures about 22 12 high. Her original, plain Bru label box will be included with her, the antique brooch that is seen in a few of the photos is not included (but available for purchase separately).
