This antique schoolgirl sampler is fresh from a Rhode Island estate! This 195 year old sampler shows the accomplished needlework of Agness Day who completed this lovely sampler at age 10 on May 1, 1824. The sampler features a parrot in the center surrounded by trees flowers and smaller birds. The top half of the sampler has a poem flanked by deer and flowers. The needlework appears to have been done in silk on a linen background. The sampler measures approx. 12 1/2 inches wide by 15 in...ches long.
There is one tiny hole in the linen below the parrots breast and there are some tiny holes and tears along the outside edge, but overall the sampler is in very good condition! NO RESERVE!
