Not much can be found about this amp online. There appeared to be a tube hybrid version, but this is completely Solid State--which I cannot find any record of online at all. I contacted Cary Audio and they said they do not have any schematics nor information on the unit--but said it was around 25 years old. This item was pulled from a rack from an estate at an electrical engineer's home.
Knowing about Cary Audio, it is made w/ perfection in mind--althou...gh not 100% sure of its intended use. I would assume it would be great for a bi-amp set up. It has 4 inputs and 4 outputs--each w/ a dial and a monitor switch to change what shows on the VU meter.
Condition:Internally, this item is about as clean and organized as it comes. Externally, there are a few dings, but mostly very clean (see pics). I tested the basic functionality and only 2 of the 4 channels are functioning. I noticed that there are bulbs behind each knob that I didn't see light up. Not sure if that is because I didn't crank it enough or they are burned out, but please note that.
While the basic functionality has been tested, the item is being sold as-is w/ no returns due to the nature of vintage electronics. You may need to maintain or repair this item to bring it back to factory specs. Please keep this in mind while bidding.
