Description: CDV portrait of a tall, thin young man, holding his Civil War forage cap. There is a horn insignia, designating insignia, on the crown of the cap (of a style also called a “bummer’s cap”). He otherwise wears civilian clothes, so perhaps this portrait shows him as he is enlisting, or perhaps when he is home on leave or after mustering out. There is no other identifying information.
Condition: Good; the tones and contrasts are clear; there are ...two pinholes, at center top and bottom, and some minor soiling. Size: about 4 x 2/5 inches.
