Many of the watches I list are from my personal collection and have been owned between two and twenty years. I am just an avid collector. I rarely ever if ever take a watch in and then just flip it, like so many do here.
Every timepiece that enters my collection, I have assessed by an expert watchmaker, and decide to have it serviced, overhauled and/or restored depending on its condition. Then it is added to my collection which gets rotated accordingly. My watches listed will have been serviced within the last twelve months.

Please, No used 40, 50 or 60 year old wristwatch or timepiece should be considered Water PROOF nor water resistant unless it has professionally pressure tested and sealed by an actual jeweler; Or it is otherwise specified by me in the listing that I had the watch indeed pressure tested. I generally only do this with actual diver watches, since it is expensive to have done.
Therefore, Do not regularly get your Vintage Waltham watch Wet; they are definitely not even remotely water resistant.

What is the difference when you BuySumTyme?
I am a collector myself and have a passion for horology. I spent twenty five years in Institutional Sales and account management and come from a really Old School Background. I inherited my love for vintage and contemporary watches from my
Dad who grew up on the Lower East Side of NYC in the heart of the diamond, fashion and jewelry district and at that time NYC's watch district. His oldest and best friend from Childhood, a man named Russ Neglia was a very well known watchmaker down there, where Dad would take my brother and I on Sundays. So as a young boy, all I could do was marvel at the Showcases filled with such great American and Swiss manufacturers like Bulova, Accutron, Hamilton, Waltham, Elgin, Gruen, Benrus, Longines, Omega and well even Timex I suppose. Tragically the late 70's saw the demise of the most of the American Watch manufacturing giants, what a sad day for American Horology if you ask me. Thank God their quality, incredible engineering, artistic design and production, have all allowed great pieces to survive and to be more appreciated today than perhaps they were back then imho.
Why do I tell you this? My upbringing, my background, and my experience in both Sales and Account Management transfers to the care I take with my collection and the basis upon which I then choose to rotate them on to other collectors and buyers.
When you receive a watch from me, unlike most sellers, pre-owned bracelets will have been both ultra-sonically and steamed cleaned, refurbished or in some cases replaced with NOS Bands or vintage period correct pieces. I even condition and clean Leather Bands. You should see how filthy bracelets get and if you've been around awhile, you know exactly what I mean. How do you buy a vintage piece from say an estate and not bother to remove the bracelet, pins, etc and not ultrasonically clean them? Well I am sure everyone has their reasons, I just don?t roll that way. I don?t just acquire something for my collection and not re-condition it when required. Thus, I want a buyer to experience a higher level of custom service that I expect myself. Originality, Provenance, Service and above all Honesty matter to collectors and they matter to me.
Every watch I send to a buyer, is tested again prior to shipping. I have my own Weishi Timegrapher to record data for both Mechanical and Automatic movements. Vintage Quartz watches are tested as well on a Quartz Watch Tester 4 in 1 Line Free / Release, Pulse, Circuit, Battery Tester and/or analog Multimeter.
When I ship a watch or piece of jewelry, it will be hand wrapped in a vinyl wrap to protect bezel, bracelet, leather buckle and case. You tell me who does that? Additionally, with an Vintage Electronic, Tuning Fork or even a quartz watch, if I have a extra battery on hand, I will include it at no extra charge.
When I have a watch restored or overhauled, I only use the most reliable and skilled watchmakers trained in those specific brands. Take a look at my Seller Feedback.
