Good Evening folks.. Today I am very pleased to be able to offer to Collectors and Smiths this very nice and big 224 lb. Peter Wright Blacksmith Anvil. Anvil iis in very good condition with only age appropriate dings, one edge has slight rounding near the front, and a slight chip behind that, other side of the face has sharp edges and is all good. (see pics). Face is nice and flat with no dips or belly. Anvil has a great ring can actually ring the anvil with your finger nail. has a ver...y good hammer bounce as well.Anvil is faintly struck on the side with the words WRIGHT PATENT and solid wrought in a circle and the British stone weight numbers of 2-0-0 which coilates to 224 lbs. Please check out my pics as I consider them part of my description. Peter Wright was the most well anvil of high quality blacksmith anvils on the planet he produced anvils for over 200 years. He used the best Wrought iron he could find, and faced them with the very best Sheffield Steel. They claimed that Wright's anvils would outlast all others. This example is no exception and should last another 200 years. Specs are as follows..Overall length is 28 1/2" The face is 17 1/4" by 5" The Hardy Hole is 1 1/4" and the prichel hole is 5/8th" The footprint is 11" by 11" The height is 12" and the weight is 224 lbs.HONEST, OLD, AND FRESH TO THE MARKET.....Shipping will be by Fastenal Freight, or by conventional freight hauler if you live in California, or Colorado.........Pick-up at my house in southern Maine is another option....
