Rare, very rare 212 pound Hay-Budden blacksmith anvil made for the Holliday Hardware Co. based out of Indianapolis, INMade in America in Brooklyn, NY - late 1800's- early 1900'sWrought iron construction - cream of the American anvil cropMarkings are hard to make out via photos, however in person I am able to verify the make of this anvil, as will you. Weighs 212 pounds Length from heel to horn is 28 12", Height is 11", width of t...he face is 4 12" 1 12" Hardy Hole located on the rear of the face, Pritchel hole. 2 handling holes on the waist Serial as well as markings are hard to make out - I can verfiy a '2' stamped on either side of front waist handling hole, and make out 'Solid Wrought', and 'Warranted' on the side of the waist. ALL STAMPS ARE HIGHLIGHTED IN PHOTOS Face of the anvil has some sway near the front right edge.Edges have some normal chipping as seen in the photos The table and horn of the anvil have some cut marks of typical use. This 212 lb anvil for sale is a wonderful example of Hay-Budden history is still as functional as a blacksmith anvil today as it was in the 1800's.
