Well-Made, Antique Art Pottery Covered Jar
Description and Item Information
Up for sale is this old art pottery covered jar, lidded bowl, or box. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This eight-sided piece has a matte maroon or burgundy glaze over buff clay. It stands about 2 1/2 inches tall, and it has a maximum width of approximately 7 inches. Unpacked, it weighs 1 pound 14.8 ounces. It would be a fine addition to a collection of arts and crafts pottery.

This piece was made by an artist named Ogier. Unfortunately, I have not located biographical information about this artist. In glaze and form, this looks very much like an outside artist piece made at California Faience of Berkeley, California. Although not as common as the red clay pieces, there were California Faience pots made of buff clay. The exact age of this piece is not known, but it is believed to be antique.
Condition
This piece looks great overall, with no chips or cracks. It has light wear. A couple of stray metal marks on the exterior of the bowl do not detract. This piece is nicely balanced, skillfully-made, and the lid fits well. Please review the description and photos, and ask any necessary questions prior to bidding or buying.

1. Payments
Taxes may be applicable. The correct shipping address must be included with payment. Contact the seller before bidding or buying to find out about acceptable payment methods for local pickups or deliveries. Payments must be received within three days of the end of the listing, unless prior arrangements have been made.
2. Shipping
Good packaging is included; double-boxing is not necessarily included. Framed art will not be shipped unframed. The seller usually ships on Mondays and Thursdays. The merchandise will normally be shipped on the seller's next shipping day after payment clears. The seller is not responsible for the transit time once the merchandise has been accepted by the shipping carrier.
Shipping includes delivery to a physical address via a method of the seller's choice. If the buyer prefers a different shipping method other than that chosen by the seller, or if delivery is to a post office box, additional shipping costs may be required. At the seller's discretion, a signature may be required for delivery.
Shipping quotes must be requested prior to all international bidding or buying. For international shipping, there may be parcel size restrictions or prohibitions on certain classes of merchandise. Customs forms will not be falsified.
International buyers, please note: Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.
