Simple, and yet perfect in form.Finely cast of bronze in squat, compressed form. The shoulder set with a pair of lion mask handles. Raised on a slightly flared foot, and an everted rim. The shape of this incense burner is kind of round squarish, very cute.Made ...during the late Qing Dynasty. Approximately 5.4 inches in diameter (across the handles). About 592 grams.In good antique condition with signs of usage that’s consistent with its over 100 years age. No damages, no dings, no dents. The natural patina is consistent with its age.***Provenance*** The owner of this incense burner is an art collector and retired UC Berkeley professor. He bought this incense burner from a Japanese collector for $1, 900 in the early 90’s. He’s selling his entire collection to get ready for moving to an assisted living center when the pandemic is under control.
