For your consideration: a vintage Bullard 502 fiberglass hard hat with suspension liner. The color is a vintage white/ off white color. The exterior of the hat is in fair to good condition as seen in photographs with minor scuffs throughout. The front of the hard hat bears the word “Johnny” and also features lifting hooks on both sides. Graphics on front and sides can probably be removed if desired. The inside of the hard hat is in good condition including the suspension. The inner... lip of the hat reads “Polyglas, Lupi, Milano Italia”. The crown of the hat on the inside reads “Hard Boiled, ED Bullard Co, SF USA”. The dimensions are approximately 11.25” long x 8.75” wide. The Hard Boiled Hat is rich in history. It was one of the first hard hats around; produced after 1919. This headgear was the first commercially available head protection device. Worn by millions of workers, Bullard’s hard hat revolutionized the safety-product industry, earning him a spot in the National Inventors Hall of Fame.
