Sale includes Radio Set AN/PRC-90 NSN: 5820-00-782-5308LS, MFR- Oklahoma Aerotronics, Inc. Hartshorne, Oklahoma
Unit has the upgraded battery adapter to use 4 commercial CR123 batteries. NSN 5940-01-484-6261 This is a removable g...overnment issued accessory which can be removed by unscrewing it. It is not a modification but it does give you the value of being able to power up the radio to use it as a receiver.
Includes earbud and pouch, both telescoping (22887ASSY175C002-1) and flexible antennas.
The flexible antenna, while not originally issued with the original PRC-90, does fit the connector on the radio and would facilitate the radio to be used as a receiver only.
It turns on and static noise is heard in the Voice positions, but I have no way to test the transmit/receive function.
Sold as is, no returns. U.S.A Sales Only.
Caution: DO NOT use as a walkie talkie!
This is a U.S. Military Survival Radio which can transmit on US DoD and international distress frequencies.
DO NOT put this radio into BCN mode or press the Push-to-Talk or MCW switches with batteries in the radio unless the radio is connected to a dummy load and test equipment inside of an RF/EMI shielded room.
Hence, this radio is sold as a collectible piece of military electronics history.
