1881 18k hunter ~ Webster ~ london ~ half quarter repeaterabout 53 mm diameter not including the slide or the pendant ~ weighs in complete on my postal scale at just about 5.5 ounces complete ~ triple hinged 18k gold hall marked hunting case ~ stem wind / pin set (please always advance the time when setting a complicated watch to avoid damage) ~ in good running order & kept close time for me over a 24 hour period... ~ i am unaware of it's service history & cannot guarantee timekeeping for you ~ in excellent overall condition ~ topped off by a stiff hall marked gold bow the front cover springs open to shy of 90 degrees ~ hall marked inside all 3 covers ~ clear glass crystal ~ deep blued steel spade hands ~ excellent enamel dial signed webster ~ victoria st ~ 17050 ~ black roman numerals with the seconds bit located at the 9 ~ no chips or cracks i can spot ~ gilded english lever escapement movement jeweled through the center with cap jewels over the pallet & escape wheel ~ gold timing screws on the split bi metallic balance wheel ~ signed Webster ~ queen victoria street ~ london serial number 17059 with that serial number inside all of the covers ~ being a 1/2 1/4 repeater it will first sound out a single strike for each hour ~ for each full quarter hour passed it will give a double strike with both hammers striking ~ of there is a further complete 7.5 minutes completed after the 1/4 the watch will strike one more time ~ the watch repeats at a stately pace clear & true to the time when the slide is fully pressed ~ i posted a video to youtube ~ copy & paste this address to view: https://youtu.be/rGfW_iGgGxA ~ i believe the case is hall marked for london 1881 with the case maker's mark of cn over en ~ in really excellent overall condition ~ a wonderful example of fine antique english watchmaking for the enthusiast to enjoy! please ask questions and resolve issuesbefore you placeyour bid reserve?no reserve here! so if you like it you better place yourbid now before it gets away! thanks for checking out my listingand if you are into watches please check out my other offerings & you might want to keep a half-an-eye on myupcoming listings as i am liquidating a long time watchmaker'sestate-whilst i continue to span the globe for unique and exoticitems to bring to your door!you are the reason ebay is a success!Good Luck!tempus fugit ~ carpe diem the release of atomic power has changed everything except our way ofthinking... the solution to this problem lies in the heart of mankind.
