H. HERNSTEIN Civil War Surgical Amputation Field Kit Set ~ RARE U.S.A Hosp. Dept. Set was purchased from the estate of a prominent Atlanta surgeon. Set includes nearly all pieces including ebony and "white" handled surgical tools, bone saw & brush, tourniquet, etc.  Several of the items have different maker's names on them and several have Hernstein on them. One of the extraction tools is stamped U.S.A. Hosp. Dept.  Tourniquet is stamped J&S Maw London. Some tools hav...e some wear but overall a very good set.
