Original Western Electric 1920's 1-A broadcast booth control box. A very scarce artifact from the early days of radio broadcasting. Typical WE high quality mahogany wood box, cables, and wiring. This is a professional unit designed for use in controlling microphone and standby in radio station broadcasting. This control unit was typically used with the Western Electric 1A or 1B double button carbon microphone. While many... of the early Western Electric 1A and 1B carbon microphones show up, seldom are these studio control boxes found.This unit is in pristine original condition. Looks absolutely fantastic.The cables and connection plugs are original Western Electric equipment and appear to be in perfect original condition. Control box has not been tested but appears to be in excellent and complete condition. All original with nice original patina. Also, an original package for replacement bulbs and it includes one original bulb. Was stored inside this unit and included with sale.A scarce early piece of radio history in near mint pristine original condition.
