Up for bid is a fantastic antique ring insert, which has the Alpha Delta Phi fraternity crest in dark colored metal. I found a small handful of these recently, from many different fraternities and a few sororities as well. Some of the pieces in the lot had older versions of crests (Sig Ep, Lambda Chi), so I think these are from the 1920's or 30's. I believe they may have been salesman samples, and used to insert into rings, or possibly used for other types of jewelry-...making back in the day. This one may be an older version of this crest as well, as it has the older ADPhi badge in the middle, with the star on top, which I've never seen before. The crest is set against a black enamel or plastic. It's not glass and or any sort of stone. It's in amazing condition with no damage or wear, nor any smoothing to the coat of arms. Measures 1/2" tall. A very nice addition to your ADPhi or vintage fraternity / sorority collection!
