Too bad the rest of this jar/jug does not come with these 2 shards glued together ! The date is the 18th of a month in 1850 something.... Most of the D is there and the V & E are there . The A is not . I don't know how many shards with a partial date/signature are out there but this would be great in a display with other Edgefield pottery or a shadow box type display with various shards . It is about 6 inches across & 3 3/4 inches up & down . I will start this auction @ 1.0...0 & let you folks decide what it's worth . 10.00 for insured s/h .
