Item: Up for auction is a beautiful antique Chinese embroidered 'views of Guangzhou' cream-ground silk panel, dating from late 19th to early 20thc. Finely embroidered to show landscape/riverscape in Guangzhou with figures in boats, inscription and two seals upper right. Similar examples (set of four) sold at Christie's London may 2018, fetched up nearly 90, 000 US dollars.
Size: 56 1/4" long X 17 1/4" wide.
Condition: It is in very good condition... except borders remain glue residue and minor holes as the panel was previously framed and recently unframed. Minor spots of water stain and a small tear on lower left and few spots of looses to threads consistent with age. A beautiful panel with fine details and threads are still vivid.
