Description:This is a very unusual offering. The mark on this piece dates it from 1889-1906. Many companies that produced fine bone china dinnerware did not make very many tea and coffee sets because tea and coffee were served by the well-to-do in sterling silver pots on sterling silver trays. Before Lenox began to create fine bone china, they made porcelain tea and coffee sets. This is part of that era and this piece has been sitting behind glass for years.&nbs...p; It is museum quality.
The pot is cream colored porcelain with sterling silver overlay. It has a concave down shape as can be seen in the photos. The top opening is oval and slightly convex up. The pot is 7 1/2" without the lid. the lid adds another 1 3/4". This piece has no chips, dents, scratches, repairs or anything that my fingers could find or my eyes could see or that showed up in photos.
