VINTAGE early 1900's Obsolete ( Made in California, but does not resemble modern badges, for collecting only, or theater, film prop use ) BENICIA POLICE Detective's Badge with a Classic 7 point embossed metal Star and its original Leather Fob and original pin intact. This is just the Fob backing, not with the portion that would have backed this and slid into a jacket or shirt pocket. Stamped ED JONES & CO OAKLAND CAL on the back side of star as seen in the last photo. I have ...not cleaned this. I have not treated the leather. This is original, from the storage box condition. I will be listing the other Police / Sheriff / Deputy Sheriff Badges from this person as well, if you are interested-- all vintage and "obsolete" as well.The Start is in very good to excellent Condition, nice light patina on the face, the embossing is crisp and clean, the lettering is fully blacked in (original, untouched). In the center is a four point crossed star. There is some deeper patina on the back of the star and clearly embossed-- ED JONES & CO OAKLAND CAL as seen in last photo. The pin is sound and solid and works fine.The leather Fob is in very good condition for its age. It still has the remains of the stitching, where it would have been sewn to the pocket insert.
