La Cimbali - MicroCimbali Vintage Hand - Pump Espresso Machine - Cond.
Item History & Price
I love espresso/cappuccino and this is my machine - I am not a dealer. I have owned this for over 20 years and recently rebuilt it using all new gaskets, seals, thoroughly cleaning it as well as upgrading the water filler cap to a stronger, better sealing cap (see pic), but the original is included - nothing wrong with it. It's also been upgraded with a new "grounded" 3-pron...g electric cord. The pump spring checked out fine and was not replaced. I sourced all parts from "Orphan Espresso" - they also have great info and support, if you need it. See it in action/working here:https://www.dropbox.com/s/vhs3hzz73occta7/IMG_9713.MOV?dl=0
I've only used the machine 2-3 times after rebuilding it and though I have loved using it, I rarely use it much these days. Options on this machine include:- Hot water dispenser - Milk steaming arm/valve- 2 power switches: High (1000w) to boil water quickly to make espresso and for the milk steaming pressure, and a Low (300w) power switch to keep the water warm in the tank in between making multiple cups of espresso.[Both power switches would be turned on initially to get the water boiling for espresso]
If you love espresso, vintage Italian design, and are not the Starbucks "cookie-cutter" coffee person - you will love this espresso maker. Again, I love this Microcimbali and would keep it as a beautiful art object of amazing design (and fantastic orange color), but it needs to be used by someone who really appreciates a hand-pump machine like this and the unique way espresso was meant to be made.
As mentioned, everything works, but it's sold in As Is condition. I'll also send the buyer some tips and recommendations regarding usage and cleaning. Please note that this is a semi-heavy item and an awkward shape - to box up. I'll probably remove the pump handle and steamer arm to reduce the size of the box needed as well as to ensure that they don't break in transit (specifically the steamer arm). If you're local/semi-local to Brooklyn, NY...picking it up will be even better.
Please let me know if you have any questions.Thanks.
