This rare Danish Neolithic flint artefact is called
"Massive Ax with flat edge and rounded butt".
Stone axes with shaft-hole, often of stone, are now exceptionally found in graves, whereas a large number occur as stray finds.
Battle axes with sand-glass shaped shafthole or
without shafthole may be understood as offer axes!!
Onl...y a very small number of these can be classified as battleaxes, the majority being heavy and of simple shapes in comparison withthe earlier shaftholed axes, and must herefore be classified as work axes.
These types cannot be dated with any degree of certainy asthey only occasionelly occur in association with other objects, but they belong in general to the Late Neolithic Period and the firstpart of the Bronze Age, 1800 bc, being therefor
contemporary with the flint dagger.
Provenance is an old collection.
More details will follow the artifact.
I guarantee absolutely for the authenticity of this
European Late Neolithic stone artifact.
