Insanely rare promotional issue of the 1st Beatles album released on the Capitol Records label. The back cover contains a promotional red ink stamp with the "Promotional Copy Not For Sale" text. Used by radio stations, this album was sent there one week before the official release of the a...lbum that gave start to Beatlemania in the US. This promotional Capitol Records edition come along with some additional materials, including the original promotional teaser "The Beatles Are Coming!" wigs sticker which is affixed to the front cover and a promotional vintage 4-page fold out "National Record News Special Beatles Issue" newspaper tabloid, which was used by the Capitol Records sales team in 1964 in order to promote the Beatlemania. This tabloid contains information with the biographies of the group members, including the manager of The Beatles Brian Epstein, stories about the band and tales of Beatlemania. Interestingly enough, the biographies of the band members don't match the photos for all of members, except for Ringo. The front cover has the 1st pressing dark brown Beatles text title. The 1st version cover without the George Martin credit at the bottom left below the liner notes on the back cover, the bottom right corner has RIAA 3, a Scranton Pressing Plant identifier. The cover doesn't have any ring wear, wear, writing, seam splits or tears. Sharp corners (except for the top left corner which has some minor bumping). Great example cover. The vinyl of all of the promotional Capitol Records issues of this album has the very early 1st variation label without the BMI or ASCAP credits. The vinyl contains light marks and scuffs, but no hairlines that can be felt with a finger nail. The album comes with the original Capitol Records royal blue inner sleeve with the straight top. This issue comes with a printed out scan copy of the Capitol Records memo written by Paul Russell, the director of Capitol National Marketing, in which he talks about the role "The Beatles Are Coming" stickers had in spreading the Beatlemania.
