John is a fine clock maker and the Belling family are from a long line of clock makers passing from father to son. The clock features superb proportions with a bell top mahogany case, the case has 2 glass panels on either side through which you can see the quality fusee verge movement. There is a hinged glazed front and back door which both have there working locks and use the same keyThe Clock Measures - 21.5 inches high x 12 inches wide x 7.25 inches deepDialThe clock has a 10.75 x 7.75 inch arched engraved silvered dial which has engraved roman numerals all in excellent condition. The clock has its original fine hands and to the centre you have the aperture for the calendar dial and is signed by the maker John Beilling Junior of Bodmin. At the top of the dial you have a silent/strike selection dial which is a lovely feature to haveMovementThe movement is a high quality English 8 day twin fusee bell striking movement with its original verge escapement which is in full working order keeping time and striking the hours on the hour with its original pendulum and comes with a winding key, the movement is very clean and dates to circa 1790. This is a very rare high quality antique 18th century English twin fusee verge bracket clock by John Belling Junior of Bodmin which dates the clock to circa 1790. John is a fine clock maker and the Belling family are from a long line of clock makers passing from father to son.
