This little antique secretary is lovely. It was manufactured around the turn of the 20th century from maple and was veneered in walnut burlwood. Done in the ornate Louis XV style, it is detailed with heavy brass ornaments on the crest and feet of its dramatic cabriole front legs, hand-cut dovetail joinery, and heavy brass hardware. It features a drop front writing surface that opens up to a small storage area featuring three small drawers and various cubbies. There are three more, slig...htly larger, drawers underneath the secretary portion. This piece recently underwent extensive repair work but it was exposed to extremely variable temperatures at some point in its life and the veneer shows the wear of it. There is also some stains on the writing surface. It measures 35" high, 31" wide, 17" deep with the writing surface closed, 27" when it's down. It weighs approximately 10 lbs.
