The 1765 2'6d America embossed revenue stamp on blue, used. These were issued on stamped paper for use in the American colonies, but almost all known used were in Quebec – primarily Montreal and Quebec City. Those in the 13 colonies were almost all destroyed or returned to Britain, as a result of the widespread hostility to the stamp tax. All are quite scace to rare. Van Dam QAE 11.
