Description/Interesting Notes: This specimen consists of a striking mass of precious opal replacing petrified wood from this famed Nevada locale!!! This specimen hosts a large area of highly translucent precious opal that exhibits stunning, rainbow colored fire within!!! This specimen is WAY better than the pics show and the... iridescent fire is simply incredible in person!!! The fire is present as a rainbow-like strata when viewed on edge and when viewed from the broad face it is a dazzling kaleidoscope-like patchwork of color!!! The specimen has irregular, natural surfaces and, unlike much virgin valley opal, it is completely stable and uncrazed!!! As is common with these specimens, this specimen retains a fine, stoppered glass vial for optimum display!!! This specimen is showy in either enviroment (many of the pictures were taken while the specimen was on display in the glass vial - you can tell which picture are which by the reflection of the lights on the glass vial)!!! A very fine example of this prized gem material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
